There are two types of AED’s - Semi- Automatic & Fully Automatic. A semi-Automatic AED will advise the first responder when the shock is required so the user can administrate the shock by pressing the button. These defibrillator machines will still give straight forward instruction similarly to the fully automatic AED on when to stand clear and when to push the shock button. Semi-Automatic AEDs provide the first responder with complete control over the shocks allowing them to ensure everything is in order beforehand and genuinely have faster time to shock due to the responder having to initiate.
