The 11720-L Coaxial Ophthalmoscope is a professional diagnostic instrument designed for examining the internal structures of the eye. Its coaxial optical system provides a clear, shadow-free spotlight, making it easier to examine undilated pupils while providing a larger field of view compared with standard ophthalmoscopes.

The ophthalmoscope features LED illumination for consistent performance and true tissue colour, alongside a comprehensive selection of apertures, filters and focusing lenses. This makes it suitable for routine eye examinations and detailed assessment of the fundus.

Versatile eye examination

The 11720-L features six aperture options to support different examination requirements, including Micro, Small, Large, Fixation, Slit and Cobalt Blue.

The Micro and Small apertures are suitable for examining small or undilated pupils, while the Large aperture is designed for use with dilated pupils. The Fixation aperture can assist with assessing eccentric fixation and locating lesions, while the Slit aperture can be used to assess the level of lesions and tumours.

The Cobalt Blue aperture can be used alongside fluorescein dye to help identify small corneal lesions, abrasions and foreign bodies.

Enhanced viewing with filters

Two additional filters are available for use with the apertures. The Red-Free filter removes red light to make veins, arteries and nerve fibres easier to identify, while the Polarising filter helps to reduce corneal reflections for clearer viewing.

Wide focusing range

The 11720-L provides 28 focusing lenses covering a range of -25 to +40 dioptres. The lenses can be adjusted using the conveniently positioned thumbwheel, allowing the user to achieve the required focus during examination.

A rubber brow rest also helps protect eyeglasses from scratching during use.

Adjustable LED illumination

The LED light source provides consistent illumination and true tissue colour during examination. Light intensity can be adjusted using the integrated rheostat dial, allowing the user to select a suitable illumination level for the examination.
