The Philips HeartStart FRx Semi-Automatic Defibrillator is a robust and straightforward AED designed to provide clear guidance throughout an emergency response. Voice instructions guide the responder from electrode pad placement through Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and shock delivery.
Designed for demanding environments, the FRx combines an IP55-rated construction with automatic self-testing and SMART Pads II that can be used for both adult and paediatric patients.
Voice-guided operation
The Philips HeartStart FRx provides clear voice instructions throughout the rescue process, including guidance on electrode pad placement and CPR.
A built-in metronome supports chest compressions, helping the responder follow the required steps during a time-critical emergency.
Adult and paediatric use
The FRx uses SMART Pads II for both adult and paediatric patients, removing the need to keep separate sets of child electrode pads.
For infants and children under 8 years old or weighing less than 25kg, the optional Infant/Child Key can be inserted into the defibrillator. The FRx then automatically reduces the defibrillation energy and adjusts its voice and visual instructions and CPR guidance.
SMART Analysis
SMART Analysis automatically assesses the patient's heart rhythm and advises a shock only when the rhythm is determined to be suitable for defibrillation.
The FRx delivers adult defibrillation at 150J nominal into a 50-ohm load, reducing to 50J nominal for paediatric treatment when the optional Infant/Child Key is installed.
Automatic self-checks
The defibrillator performs automatic self-tests daily, weekly and monthly to check its functionality and readiness for use.
These tests include checks of the electrode pads and internal systems, helping ensure the FRx remains ready when required.
Robust design
With an IP55 rating, the HeartStart FRx is designed for use in demanding environments. It has been tested to withstand drops from 1.2 metres and loads of up to 500kg.
Key features
Battery
The FRx uses a disposable lithium manganese dioxide battery with a typical standby life of four years when installed and maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Quick Shock
The Quick Shock feature allows the FRx to deliver a shock after the end of a CPR interval, typically within eight seconds.
Warranty
The Philips HeartStart FRx Defibrillator is supplied with an 8-year AED warranty.
