The Medi-Plinth Treatment and Plaster Chair is a specialist medical treatment chair designed for plaster application, minor surgical procedures and general patient treatment. Available with electric or hydraulic height adjustment, it provides a practical solution for NHS hospitals, fracture clinics, orthopaedic departments and other healthcare environments.
Featuring adjustable back and leg sections, removable side treatment tables and a low entry height, this plaster chair supports patient positioning while providing clinicians with convenient access during treatment.
Electric or hydraulic height adjustment
The Medi-Plinth plaster chair is available in two configurations to suit different clinical requirements.
The electric version provides powered height adjustment using a Linak actuator system, offering convenient positioning for healthcare professionals during procedures.
The hydraulic version provides an alternative method of height adjustment without relying on an electrically powered lifting mechanism.
Both configurations allow the working height to be adjusted to support clinical access and reduce the need for unnecessary bending during treatment.
Removable treatment tables for plaster application
The chair incorporates two quick-release treatment tables manufactured from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic.
These provide smooth, stable surfaces for supporting limbs during plaster application and other specialist procedures.
Each table can be lowered when not required or removed using its quick-release mechanism, allowing clinicians to adapt the working area to the treatment being performed.
The wipe-clean surfaces also support routine cleaning between patients.
Adjustable backrest and leg sections
Gas spring-assisted back and leg sections allow clinicians to adjust patient positioning according to the procedure being carried out.
The split-leg configuration provides flexibility when accessing or treating individual lower limbs, making the chair particularly useful for orthopaedic and plaster room applications.
These adjustments help accommodate different treatment positions while providing support throughout the procedure.
Patient access and comfort
The treatment and plaster chair features an extra-low entry height to assist patients when transferring from a wheelchair or moving onto the chair.
Its upholstered surfaces provide support during treatment, while the adjustable sections allow positioning to be adapted to individual patient needs.
The upholstery is specified as antibacterial, methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) resistant and fire retardant, making it suitable for professional healthcare environments.
Practical design for clinical environments
Retractable rubber castors allow the chair to be repositioned when required, while an adjustable foot helps compensate for uneven flooring.
These features make the chair suitable for busy treatment rooms where equipment may need to be moved or positioned for different procedures.
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, the Medi-Plinth Treatment and Plaster Chair is designed for use in professional healthcare facilities, including NHS hospitals, orthopaedic clinics, plaster rooms and outpatient treatment departments.
