The Integra Shell Seat is a tilt-in-space chair designed to support comfortable positioning and moving and handling in nursing and residential care environments. Its gas-assisted mechanism allows the chair to be tilted while supporting users who may remain seated for extended periods.
Available in three seat widths, this mobile chair combines adjustable positioning with manoeuvrable castors, a directional wheel and good hoist access for practical day-to-day use.
Gas-assisted tilt-in-space positioning
The gas-assisted tilt-in-space mechanism is controlled using an ergonomically designed push handle and hand lever, allowing carers to adjust the chair's position while supporting the user.
When tilted forwards, the legrest automatically moves beneath the seat to provide additional clearance and help the user rise from the chair. The legrest is also removable and angle adjustable to accommodate individual positioning requirements.
Adjustable support and seating
An ergonomically designed headrest attaches using hook-and-loop fastening, allowing its position to be adjusted according to the user's requirements.
The exterior is upholstered in brown polyvinyl chloride (PVC), while the backrest, seat and leg section feature grey two-way stretch, vapour-permeable material. A storage pocket incorporated into the backrest provides convenient space for smaller items.
Easy manoeuvring and transfers
High-quality 12.5cm wheels rotate through 360 degrees to support manoeuvrability, with two braked castors positioned at the rear.
A directional wheel helps the chair maintain a straight path during transfers, while good hoist access supports moving and handling procedures within nursing, residential and other care environments.
Forward tilt for easier standing
The forward-tilt function is designed to help users rise from the chair. As the seat moves forwards, the legrest automatically retracts beneath it to provide clearance.
This combination helps carers support users during transfers while reducing the need to manually reposition the legrest before standing.
Safety during everyday use
A lap belt is fitted as standard to provide additional security while the chair is in use.
Rear braked castors help keep the chair stationary when required, while the directional wheel and controlled tilt mechanism provide practical functionality when positioning and moving the chair.
Three seat widths available
The Integra Shell Seat is available in 16, 18 and 20-inch versions, with seat widths of 39cm, 45cm and 51cm respectively.
Each version has a 44cm seat depth and 85cm backrest height, with a maximum user weight of 120kg (19st).
