The Pharmacy Medical HECMC404 Medicine Cabinet provides secure storage for general medicines across eight adjustable full-depth internal shelves. Its double-door design offers a wide, tall storage area for healthcare facilities requiring more shelving space without door-mounted compartments.
Measuring 900mm high, 1000mm wide and 300mm deep, this lockable medicine cabinet is suitable for hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacies and care homes managing larger medication inventories.
Eight adjustable full-depth shelves
The HECMC404 incorporates eight deep internal shelves, allowing medicines to be organised across multiple storage levels.
Adjustable shelving positions help accommodate different container heights, including medication bottles, cartons and other appropriately sized supplies.
Because the cabinet has no door-mounted shelves, the storage arrangement remains concentrated within the main interior.
This configuration is particularly useful where healthcare teams prefer full-depth shelves for organising larger quantities of medication packaging.
Wide double-door storage for healthcare facilities
With a height of 900mm and width of 1000mm, the HECMC404 offers a substantial storage area within a wall-mounted cabinet.
Its double-door design provides access to the internal shelving, while the 300mm depth helps limit how far the unit projects into the room.
This makes it a practical option for dedicated medication rooms, pharmacy storage areas and other healthcare environments requiring secure storage across several shelving levels.
The HECMC414 offers an alternative arrangement with eight internal shelves and eight door shelves within the same external dimensions.
Key-retaining security locking system
The HECMC404 features a BS3621-compliant Euro-profile cylinder lock designed to help prevent unauthorised access to stored medicines.
Its key-retaining mechanism prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet remains open, supporting secure locking procedures.
The cylinder incorporates anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection and is supplied with three keys.
It is tested to BS EN1303:2005 and carries Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
A hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw provides additional security.
Robust welded steel construction
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, the HECMC404 is constructed from 0.9mm thick cold-reduced mild steel.
Welded construction provides a strong cabinet structure for regular use in professional healthcare environments.
An anti-jemmy folded return along the hinge side helps protect against forced door removal, while additional reinforcement around the lock fixing supports the security mechanism.
The exterior features a RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder-coated finish, providing a durable, wipe-clean surface suitable for routine cleaning.
Medicine cabinet security standards
The HECMC404 conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard covering cupboards used for storing medicines in healthcare premises.
Its BS3621 locking system and steel construction support secure general medicine storage in clinical environments.
The cabinet is intended for facilities where access to medicines must be restricted to authorised healthcare personnel.
It is not designed to replace a controlled drugs cabinet where additional safe custody requirements apply.
Wall mounting and optional configurations
The HECMC404 is designed for secure wall installation and features four fixing positions for 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors.
It is supplied fully assembled and should be installed by a competent person using appropriate fixings for the supporting wall.
The double-door configuration incorporates a single-point locking arrangement.
An optional warning light is available, while the manufacturer also offers an ABLOY® CLIQ electronic locking upgrade for facilities requiring alternative key management.
