The Pharmacy Medical HECMC403 Medicine Cabinet provides secure medication storage across six adjustable full-depth internal shelves. With a double-door design and a width of 1000mm, this lockable medicine cabinet offers a practical storage solution for healthcare facilities managing larger quantities of general medicines.
Measuring 600mm high, 1000mm wide and 300mm deep, it is suitable for pharmacies, GP surgeries, hospitals and care homes requiring organised, wall-mounted medicine storage.
Six adjustable shelves for medicine organisation
The HECMC403 features six adjustable full-depth internal shelves, allowing healthcare professionals to organise medication stock according to container size and storage requirements.
The shelves can be repositioned to accommodate different packaging heights, providing flexibility when medicine inventories change.
Unlike cabinets with door-mounted compartments, the HECMC403 concentrates its storage within the main cabinet interior. This provides a straightforward shelving arrangement for medicine bottles, cartons and other appropriately sized clinical supplies.
For facilities requiring additional door shelving, the HECMC413 offers six internal shelves and six door shelves within the same cabinet dimensions.
Double-door design for wider medicine storage
At 1000mm wide, the HECMC403 provides a broad internal storage area without requiring the height of a taller medicine cabinet.
Its double-door configuration provides access to the cabinet's shelving, making it suitable for medication rooms where healthcare teams need to organise stock across a wider storage space.
The 300mm cabinet depth helps maintain a relatively shallow wall-mounted profile.
This combination is useful for healthcare facilities with sufficient wall width but limited space for deeper storage cupboards.
Key-retaining security locking system
The HECMC403 incorporates a BS3621-compliant cylinder lock designed to restrict unauthorised access to stored medicines.
Its key-retaining mechanism prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet is open, supporting secure locking procedures during routine medication handling.
The Euro-profile cylinder incorporates anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection.
Three keys are supplied as standard.
The lock cylinder is tested to BS EN1303:2005 and carries Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
A hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw provides additional security.
Welded steel construction and durable finish
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, the HECMC403 is constructed from 0.9mm thick cold-reduced mild steel.
Its welded cabinet construction provides a robust structure for regular use in professional healthcare environments.
An anti-jemmy folded return along the hinge side of the doors helps protect against forced removal, while reinforcement around the lock fixing area supports the cabinet's security features.
The exterior is finished in RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder coating, creating a durable, wipe-clean surface suitable for routine cleaning.
Medicine cabinet security standards
The HECMC403 conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard covering cupboards for storing medicines in healthcare premises.
The cabinet also incorporates a BS3621-compliant locking system and single-point locking arrangement.
These features support secure general medicine storage in GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and care homes where access must be restricted to authorised personnel.
The HECMC403 is intended for general medicines rather than controlled drugs requiring specific safe custody arrangements.
Wall mounting and optional security features
The HECMC403 is designed for wall installation, with four fixing positions specified for 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors.
It is supplied fully assembled and should be installed securely by a competent person using appropriate fixings for the supporting wall.
An optional warning light is available through Seal Medical.
The manufacturer also offers an ABLOY® CLIQ electronic locking system as a cost-option upgrade for facilities requiring an alternative approach to key management.
