The Pharmacy Medical HECMC250 Medicine Cabinet provides secure and practical medication storage with three adjustable full-depth internal shelves. This lockable medicine cabinet is designed for healthcare facilities that require a straightforward shelving arrangement without additional storage compartments fitted to the door.
Measuring 600mm high, 500mm wide and 300mm deep, the HECMC250 is suitable for GP surgeries, pharmacies, treatment rooms and care homes where medicines need to be stored securely and kept organised.
Three adjustable full-depth shelves
The HECMC250 features three adjustable full-depth internal shelves, providing dedicated storage space for medicine bottles, boxes and other appropriately sized supplies.
Healthcare professionals can reposition the shelves to accommodate different packaging heights, making it easier to organise medicines according to their storage requirements.
Unlike models with door-mounted shelves, the HECMC250 keeps its storage within the main cabinet interior. This provides a straightforward layout for healthcare teams who prefer full-depth shelving.
For facilities requiring additional compartments, the HECMC251 offers internal and door-mounted shelves within the same external dimensions.
Practical dimensions for clinical storage areas
With a width of 500mm and a depth of 300mm, the HECMC250 provides useful medication storage space without requiring a particularly deep cabinet.
Its 600mm height makes it suitable for wall mounting in treatment rooms, consultation areas and dedicated medication storage spaces.
The wall-mounted configuration helps keep medicines away from worktops while allowing authorised healthcare professionals to access supplies when required.
This makes the cabinet a practical option for clinical environments where efficient use of space is important.
Key-retaining security locking system
The HECMC250 incorporates a BS3621-compliant security lock designed to restrict unauthorised access to stored medicines.
The Euro-profile cylinder features anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection, helping safeguard medication against interference.
A key-retaining mechanism prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet door remains open, encouraging staff to secure the cabinet after accessing medicines.
Three keys are supplied as standard.
The cylinder is independently tested to BS EN1303:2005 and carries Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
A hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw provides additional security.
Welded steel construction and protective finish
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, the HECMC250 is constructed from 0.9mm thick cold-reduced mild steel.
Welded construction provides a robust cabinet structure, while an anti-jemmy folded return runs along the hinge side of the door to help prevent forced removal.
Additional reinforcement around the lock fixing supports the cabinet's security features.
The exterior is finished in RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder coating, providing a durable, wipe-clean surface suitable for routine cleaning in healthcare environments.
Medicine cabinet security standards
The HECMC250 conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard covering cupboards used for storing medicines in healthcare premises.
Its BS3621 locking system and steel construction support secure general medicine storage in professional healthcare environments.
This lockable medicine cabinet is suitable for use in hospitals, pharmacies, GP surgeries and care homes where access to medication must be managed appropriately.
It is not intended to replace a controlled drugs cabinet where specific safe custody requirements apply.
Wall mounting and optional configurations
The HECMC250 is designed for secure wall installation and features four fixing positions for 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors.
It is supplied fully assembled, allowing installation to be completed by a competent person using suitable fixings for the supporting wall.
Both right-hand and left-hand hinge options are available, allowing the opening direction to suit the available installation space.
An optional warning light can also be selected through Seal Medical, while the manufacturer offers an ABLOY® CLIQ electronic locking system as a cost-option upgrade.
Please Note
The HECMC250 includes three adjustable full-depth internal shelves and does not have door-mounted shelving.
Please select your preferred left or right-hand hinge configuration when ordering. The warning light and electronic locking system are optional extras.
The manufacturer's installation information is inconsistent about whether fixing bolts are supplied. Please confirm the included fixings before installation.
The cabinet is designed for general medicine storage and is not suitable for controlled drugs requiring additional safe custody arrangements.
