The Pharmacy Medical HECMC230 Medicine Cabinet provides secure medication storage in a slim, wall-mounted design. With three adjustable full-depth shelves, this lockable medicine cabinet offers practical organisation for medicines and clinical supplies without requiring a wide installation space.
Measuring 600mm high, 300mm wide and 300mm deep, it is suitable for GP surgeries, pharmacies, treatment rooms and care homes where wall space is limited but secure storage is essential.
Three adjustable full-depth shelves
The HECMC230 features three adjustable internal shelves, allowing healthcare professionals to organise medicines according to container size and storage requirements.
Each shelf uses the cabinet's available internal depth, providing space for medication boxes, bottles and other appropriately sized supplies.
The adjustable design allows shelf heights to be changed as stock requirements evolve, making it easier to accommodate different medicine packaging.
Unlike cabinets with door-mounted shelves, this model concentrates its storage within the main cabinet interior, providing a straightforward shelving arrangement.
Slim design for smaller clinical spaces
At just 300mm wide, the HECMC230 is particularly useful for healthcare environments with limited wall space.
Its 600mm height provides room for three internal shelves while maintaining a narrow footprint.
The wall-mounted configuration helps keep medicines securely stored away from worktops, making it suitable for consultation rooms, treatment areas and smaller medication storage spaces.
For healthcare facilities requiring additional door shelving, the HECMC231 offers the same external dimensions with two additional door-mounted shelves.
Key-retaining security locking system
The HECMC230 incorporates a BS3621-compliant Euro-profile cylinder lock to restrict unauthorised access to stored medicines.
The cylinder features anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection, along with a key-retaining mechanism that prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet door is open.
Three keys are supplied as standard.
The lock cylinder is independently tested to BS EN1303:2005 and carries Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
A hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw provides additional security.
Welded steel construction and durable finish
Manufactured in the United Kingdom, the HECMC230 is constructed from 0.9mm thick cold-reduced mild steel.
Welded construction provides structural strength, while an anti-jemmy folded return along the hinge side helps protect against forced entry.
The door also incorporates reinforcement around the lock fixing area.
A RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder-coated finish provides a durable, wipe-clean surface suited to routine cleaning in healthcare environments.
Medicine cabinet security standards
The HECMC230 conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard for cupboards used to store medicines in healthcare premises.
Its BS3621 locking system and steel construction support secure general medicine storage in professional clinical settings.
The cabinet is suitable for use in GP surgeries, pharmacies, hospitals and care homes where medicines must be stored securely and accessed by authorised staff.
It is not intended to replace a controlled drugs cabinet where specific safe custody requirements apply.
Wall mounting and optional configurations
The HECMC230 is designed for wall installation and features four fixing positions for 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors.
It is supplied fully assembled, ready for installation by a competent person using appropriate fixings.
The cabinet is available with either a left or right-hand hinged door, allowing the opening direction to suit the available space.
An optional warning light is also available, alongside an ABLOY® CLIQ electronic locking upgrade for facilities requiring alternative access management.
Please Note
The HECMC230 includes three adjustable full-depth internal shelves and does not have door-mounted shelving.
Please select your preferred left or right-hand hinge configuration when ordering. The warning light and electronic locking upgrade are optional extras.
The manufacturer's product information contains conflicting statements about whether wall-fixing anchors are supplied. Please confirm the fixings required before installation.
This cabinet is intended for general medicine storage and is not a substitute for a controlled drugs cabinet where additional safe custody requirements apply.
