The Pharmacy Medical HECDC905 Controlled Drugs Cabinet is a compact, floor-fixed medication storage solution designed for healthcare facilities requiring secure access to controlled drugs. Particularly suitable for care homes, GP surgeries, pharmacies and clinical medication rooms, it combines two adjustable shelves with a robust locking system and practical internal storage.
Measuring 500mm high, 300mm wide and 270mm deep, this controlled drugs cabinet provides useful storage capacity without occupying excessive space. Additional wall-fixing points also allow the cabinet to be secured to both the floor and wall where appropriate.
Practical storage with two adjustable shelves
The HECDC905 provides a flexible storage arrangement for healthcare environments managing controlled medication.
Two height-adjustable internal shelves allow you to organise medicine bottles, containers and packaged drugs according to their size and storage requirements.
The cabinet's compact footprint makes it particularly useful in care homes and smaller clinical medication areas where available space may be limited.
It can also be installed within compatible larger medicine cabinets, providing a dedicated secure compartment for controlled drugs.
Floor-fixed design with additional wall security
Unlike conventional wall-mounted controlled drugs cabinets, the HECDC905 is supplied as a floor-fixing model.
Four 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors are included for securing the cabinet to the floor.
Additional wall-fixing points allow the cabinet to be secured to both the floor and wall, providing extra stability and security where the installation arrangement permits.
This flexibility makes the HECDC905 suitable for healthcare facilities requiring a compact controlled drugs cabinet that can be incorporated into an existing medication storage area.
Secure locking with key-retaining protection
The HECDC905 features a BS3621 single-point locking system with a six-pin Euro-profile cylinder.
The cylinder incorporates anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection to help prevent unauthorised access to stored medication.
A key-retaining mechanism prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet door is open, supporting controlled access during medication handling. Three keys are supplied as standard.
The cylinder is independently tested to BS EN1303:2005 and holds Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
Additional security is provided by a hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw.
Manufactured for controlled drug storage requirements
The HECDC905 controlled drugs cabinet conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard for cupboards used to store medicines in healthcare premises.
It also meets the manufacturer's stated requirements of the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973.
These specifications support secure controlled medication storage in GP surgeries, hospitals, pharmacies and care homes.
Correct installation and appropriate medicines management procedures remain essential to maintaining compliant storage arrangements.
Heavy-duty construction with improved door access
Manufactured in Britain, the HECDC905 is constructed from 1.5mm thick cold-reduced mild steel with fully welded joints.
Reinforced 3mm anchor plates strengthen the fixing points, while an anti-jemmy folded door return provides additional resistance against forced entry.
The cabinet features a continuous 2mm steel piano hinge with a welded 4.5mm hinge pin. This provides a strong door connection and helps maximise the opening aperture for easier access to stored medication.
The exterior is finished in RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder coating, providing a durable, easy-to-clean surface suitable for healthcare environments.
Please Note
The HECDC905 controlled drugs cabinet is supplied as a floor-fixing model. Additional wall-fixing points are provided to allow the cabinet to be secured to both the floor and wall where appropriate.
