The Pharmacy Medical HECDC203 Controlled Drugs Cabinet provides extensive, organised medication storage within a wide double-door design. With six adjustable internal shelves and six fixed door shelves, it offers a practical solution for healthcare facilities managing larger quantities of controlled medication.
Measuring 600mm high, 900mm wide and 300mm deep, this lockable medication cabinet is particularly suited to hospitals, pharmacies, GP surgeries and care homes where secure storage and efficient access are essential.
Double-door access with twelve storage shelves
The HECDC203 stands out from smaller controlled drugs cabinets through its combination of adjustable internal shelving and additional door storage.
Six height-adjustable internal shelves allow you to organise medicines according to container size, packaging and storage requirements.
Each door incorporates three fixed shelves, providing six additional storage positions for smaller medication containers and frequently accessed items.
This arrangement makes effective use of both the cabinet interior and the available door space, helping healthcare professionals keep controlled medication organised and accessible.
The double-door configuration also provides a wide opening, making it easier to view and retrieve stored items.
Secure locking for controlled medication
The HECDC203 features a BS3621 single-point locking system with a six-pin Euro-profile cylinder.
The cylinder incorporates anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection to help prevent unauthorised access.
Its key-retaining mechanism prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet door is open, supporting secure access procedures during medication handling.
Three keys are supplied as standard.
The cylinder is independently tested to BS EN1303:2005 and holds Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
A hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw provides additional security.
Built for larger medication storage requirements
With its 900mm width and multiple shelving positions, the HECDC203 is well suited to healthcare environments that need more organised storage than a compact single-door cabinet can provide.
The adjustable internal shelves can accommodate a range of medicine packaging sizes, while the fixed door shelves provide separate storage areas for smaller items.
This layout is particularly useful in busy medication rooms where staff need to locate and retrieve controlled drugs efficiently.
Its 300mm depth also allows substantial storage without the projection associated with deeper cabinet designs.
British-manufactured steel construction
Manufactured in the UK, the HECDC203 is constructed from 1.5mm thick cold-reduced mild steel with fully welded joints.
The cabinet incorporates reinforced fixing points and anti-jemmy folded door returns to improve resistance against forced entry.
Continuous steel piano hinges provide strong door connections while helping maximise the opening aperture.
The exterior is finished in RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder coating, providing a durable, easy-to-clean surface suitable for professional healthcare environments.
Controlled drug storage standards
The HECDC203 controlled drugs cabinet conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard for cupboards used to store medicines in healthcare premises.
It also meets the manufacturer's stated requirements of the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973.
The BS3621 locking system provides an additional security feature for facilities responsible for storing controlled medication.
Correct installation and appropriate medicines management procedures remain essential to maintaining compliant storage arrangements.
Wall mounting and optional security upgrades
The HECDC203 is designed for secure wall installation and is supplied with four 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors.
Its wide double-door configuration provides access to both the adjustable internal shelves and the additional fixed door shelves.
An optional warning light is available for facilities requiring an additional visual security feature.
The cabinet can also be specified with an ABLOY® CLIQ electronic locking system as a cost-option upgrade, providing an alternative access management solution.
Please Note
The HECDC203 controlled drugs cabinet features six adjustable internal shelves and six fixed door shelves, providing twelve shelving positions in total.
