The Pharmacy Medical HECDC1050 Controlled Drugs Cabinet offers a spacious, secure storage solution for healthcare facilities managing larger quantities of controlled medication. With four adjustable shelves and a dual-lock security system, this lockable medication cabinet is particularly well suited to hospital departments, pharmacies, GP surgeries and care homes where organised medicine storage is essential.
Manufactured in Britain from heavy-duty steel, the HECDC1050 combines a generous internal capacity with robust security features and flexible shelving to support everyday medication management.
Generous storage space for busy healthcare facilities
With external dimensions of 1250mm high, 500mm wide and 450mm deep, the HECDC1050 provides substantial storage space for controlled drugs without requiring a separate storage room.
Four height-adjustable shelves allow healthcare professionals to arrange medication according to packaging size, stock levels or internal storage procedures.
The deeper cabinet design is particularly useful for accommodating larger medicine containers and maintaining a clearly organised inventory.
Whether installed in a hospital pharmacy, GP surgery or care home medication room, the adjustable layout helps make efficient use of the available space.
Enhanced security with two locking points
Security is a key feature of the HECDC1050 controlled drugs cabinet. Unlike smaller models that use a single locking point, this cabinet incorporates a multipoint locking system with two individual security locks.
Each lock is supplied with three keys, giving a total of six keys for authorised personnel.
The key-retaining locking arrangement prevents keys from being removed while the cabinet door is open, helping support controlled access during medication handling.
Additional security is provided by hardened steel mortise deadbolts with anti-saw protection and locking cylinders designed to resist picking and drilling.
Designed to meet controlled drug storage requirements
The HECDC1050 is manufactured to conform to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard covering cupboards used for storing medicines in healthcare premises.
It is also designed to meet the requirements of the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973.
These specifications make the cabinet suitable for healthcare organisations that need to maintain secure storage arrangements for controlled medication.
Appropriate installation and local medicines management procedures remain essential to maintaining compliance.
Reinforced steel construction for long-term use
Built from 2mm thick cold-reduced mild steel, the HECDC1050 is designed for demanding clinical environments where security and durability are priorities.
Its fully welded construction provides a rigid cabinet structure, while 3mm reinforced anchor plates strengthen the wall-fixing points.
An anti-jemmy folded door return adds protection against forced entry.
The full-length piano hinge incorporates a welded hinge pin, providing a strong connection while allowing the cabinet door to open widely for convenient access to stored medication.
Flexible positioning and hinge configurations
The HECDC1050 is available with either a left-hand or right-hand door hinge, making it easier to accommodate different room layouts and installation positions.
This flexibility is particularly useful in medication rooms where surrounding cupboards, worktops or other equipment may restrict door movement.
Four 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors are supplied for wall mounting. Installation should be completed by a competent person to ensure the cabinet is securely fixed.
Optional warning light and practical finish
For facilities requiring an additional visual security feature, the HECDC1050 can be ordered with an optional warning light.
This is an additional upgrade and is not included with the standard cabinet.
The exterior is finished in RAL 9003 white gloss polyester powder coating, providing a durable, easy-to-clean surface suitable for healthcare environments.
Please Note
The HECDC1050 controlled drugs cabinet is available with either a left-hand or right-hand hinge. Please select the required configuration when ordering.
The warning light is an optional extra and must be selected separately.
