The Pharmacy Medical HECDC1035 Controlled Drugs Cabinet provides flexible, secure medication storage with seven adjustable shelving positions. Featuring three internal shelves and four additional height-adjustable door shelves, it allows healthcare professionals to organise controlled medication according to different container sizes and storage requirements.
Measuring 850mm high, 500mm wide and 300mm deep, this lockable medication cabinet is suitable for hospitals, pharmacies, GP surgeries and care homes. Its wall-mounted design combines practical storage capacity with secure British-manufactured steel construction.
Seven adjustable shelves for flexible medication organisation
The HECDC1035 offers a versatile alternative to controlled drugs cabinets with fixed shelving arrangements.
Three height-adjustable internal shelves provide the main storage areas, allowing medicine bottles, boxes and containers of different heights to be accommodated.
An additional four height-adjustable shelves are fitted to the inside of the cabinet door. These can be repositioned to suit smaller medication containers and packaging.
This arrangement makes effective use of the available storage space while allowing healthcare teams to adapt the layout as their medication requirements change.
Adjustable door storage for easier access
One of the distinguishing features of the HECDC1035 is its four adjustable door shelves.
Unlike fixed door shelving, these can be repositioned to accommodate different container heights, providing greater flexibility when organising controlled medication.
The door shelves also create additional storage positions without increasing the cabinet's external dimensions.
For healthcare facilities managing a variety of controlled drugs, this design helps keep smaller items organised and accessible while preserving the main internal shelves for larger containers.
Secure single-point locking system
The HECDC1035 incorporates a BS3621 single-point locking system with a six-pin Euro-profile cylinder.
The cylinder features anti-pick, anti-drill and anti-bump protection, helping prevent unauthorised access to stored controlled medication.
Its key-retaining mechanism prevents the key from being removed while the cabinet door is open, supporting secure medication handling procedures.
Three keys are supplied as standard.
The cylinder is independently tested to BS EN1303:2005 and holds Kitemark KM532920 and TS007 1 Star certification.
A hardened steel mortise deadbolt with anti-saw protection and a 14mm bolt throw provides additional security.
Fully welded steel construction
Manufactured in Britain, the HECDC1035 is constructed from 1.5mm thick cold-reduced mild steel with fully welded joints.
Reinforced 3mm anchor plates strengthen the cabinet's fixing points, while an anti-jemmy folded return along the hinge side of the door helps resist forced entry.
The cabinet incorporates a continuous 2mm thick steel piano hinge with 25mm joints and a 4.5mm diameter hinge pin.
The hinge pin is welded to prevent removal, while the continuous hinge design helps maximise the opening aperture for easier access to the internal shelves.
Manufactured for controlled drug storage requirements
The HECDC1035 controlled drugs cabinet conforms to BS2881:1989 Security Level One, the British Standard for cupboards used to store medicines in healthcare premises.
The manufacturer also states that the cabinet meets or exceeds the requirements of the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973.
Combined with its BS3621 locking system and robust construction, these specifications make the cabinet suitable for professional healthcare facilities responsible for storing controlled medication securely.
Correct installation, key management and appropriate medicines management procedures remain essential to maintaining compliant storage arrangements.
Wall mounting and hinge options
The HECDC1035 is designed for secure wall installation and is supplied with four 10mm x 75mm sleeve anchors.
Its 500mm width and 300mm depth provide practical storage capacity while maintaining a relatively compact wall-mounted footprint.
The cabinet is available with either a right-hand or left-hand door hinge, allowing you to select the configuration best suited to your medication room layout.
Installation should be carried out by a competent person using the supplied fixings where suitable for the mounting surface.
Optional warning light and electronic locking
An optional warning light is available for healthcare facilities requiring an additional visual security feature.
The manufacturer also offers an ABLOY® CLIQ electronic locking system as a cost-option upgrade.
These options allow the HECDC1035 to be configured for different security and access management requirements.
The cabinet is finished in RAL 9003 White Gloss polyester powder coating, providing a durable exterior suitable for routine cleaning in healthcare environments.
Please Note
The HECDC1035 includes three adjustable internal shelves and four adjustable door shelves, providing seven adjustable shelving positions in total.
