The AlcoDigital AL5500 breathalyzer is a sophisticated yet user-friendly unit. Its discreet design is unlike that of any other breathalyser.

The breathalyser will count down as it warms up; provide a steady breath sample and receive your results in seconds. The result is displayed on the clear three digit display. The AL5500 reads in milligrams per litre (mg/L) of breath and provides measurements up to 2.00mg/L.  The English and Welsh drink drive limit is 0.35mg/L and the Scottish drink drive limit is 0.22 mg/L.

Slim, light and portable, the AL5500 is supplied with 5 mouthpieces for greater accuracy.

Semi Conductor Sensor

The AL5500 breathalyzer reads in milligrams per litre (mg/L) of breath and provides measurements up to 2.00mg/L

Alcohol in your breath produces an electrical charge on the sensor which is converted into the mg/L reading on the breathalyser screen. To get the most accurate reading, you must wait at least 20 minutes after consuming any alcohol, food or smoking to conduct a breathalyser test. This will also help with the longevity of the unit.

Mouthpieces

Mouthpieces provide additional accuracy by directing the breath into the alcohol testing device.  The AL5500 breathalyzer is supplied with 5 mouthpieces, which are re-usable and can be washed in hot water. Alternatively, you can use a plastic straw in addition to the mouthpiece. The AL5500 is a great breathalyser to use with friends and family, to compare how different people tolerate and process alcohol.

If you forget your mouthpiece don’t worry!  You can blow directly into the sample port and the breathalyzer will still produce a reading – just be aware this may not be as accurate as when using a mouthpiece.

Calibration
